Why We Need Open Source Pharma
BY TOMASZ SABLINSKI

Picture

  • current model is broken
  • fantastic progress in science has not led to enough new medications
  • societal changes lead to much more open communication
  • open source has proven successful in other areas of knowledge economy
  • open source is consistent with virtual company model - increasingly popular
  • individuals are engaged by intellectual challenge rather than financial reward
  • financial reward to individuals based on outcome judged by peers
  • low fixed cost
  • most time spent on content rather than context and politics

Tomasz Sablinski is the CEO of Transparency Life Sciences. He is @TSablinski on Twitter.
